Hello everyone!

Yesterday night had been unsuccessfull with the owl, but this morning seemed very promising with not much wind. A flock of twites went over our head while opening and some bullfinches. Unfortunately the wind picked up more quickly than predicted and at 10 am it was already too strong and the birds could clearly see the nets. Nevertheless, we got a few goldcrests , a couple of redpolls and a treecreeper.
In the afternoon, a good flock of waxwings came in front of the window for our great pleasure and we tried to tape lure them in the net. The wind was still too strong and they went on and on over it, one of them even standing on the top string of the highest pocket. Probably just to play with our nerves…
The wind decreased slowly through the afternoon , this flock took off. Around 5pm, we started closing some nets and about 10 bullfinches passed over our head, but we finally got one!
And last but not least, in the last round of the day, we got 2 twites which are a first for Nicolas and a first in the hand for Melina, so happy we were!
Now it’s time to try owls again before the wind gets crazy.

Tre av dagens ringmerkede fugler. Svartmeis, brunsisik og dompap. 

​Ringing total of today :39 (goldcrest 17, wren 4, chiffchaff 1, blackbird 2, robin 4, blackcap 1, coal tits 2, treecreeper 1, redpolls 3, twites 2, greenfinch 1, bullfinch1).
Legger til at dagens ringmerkede ble totalt 39 (fuglekonge 17, gjerdesmett 4, svarttrost 2, gransanger 1, rødstrupe 4, svartmeis 2, munk 1, trekryper 1, brunsisik 3, bergirisk 2, grønnfink 1, dompap 1). Totalen for året er da oppe i 4.892 og for høsten 2.362.
