Wind 6m/s E, 2 deg C, broken cloud, clearing then light showers later.
The chill easterly wind meant there wasn't much happening on that side of the island both on the sea and in the air early on. There was, however, an increase in the number of small birds caught compared to recently. Highlight of the day was watching a Greater Black-backed Gull fighting a Cormorant in the water for a fish before it, in turn, was mobbed by a Raven when on land. Nets open 05.00-18.00hrs. Ringing: Blackbird 1, Robin 1, Goldcrest 5, Chiffchaff 4, Wren 9. Total 20. Chris
