It was a pretty quiet morning for bird ringing today. We are starting to see a shift in species: we ringed just as many Blackcaps as Willow Warblers. Two Nightjars were circling around the mistnets early in the morning, but we didn’t catch them. Too bad — maybe next time! The little slow worm, stålorm, continues to wander through the ringing station. Magne and his wife came by to do some odd jobs, with the main priority being the harbor and the water situation. We had a delicious, hearty breakfast while sharing some specialty pastries: Kanelknut and Crêpes. Good news: after two long hours of trying different things, Magne managed to fix the water system! Thank you so much, Magne! You are the handyman of the situation, almost a hero in this case. We will finally be able to take a nice shower this afternoon, yay! And to wash the dishes that have been accumulating for a few days… but one problem at a time; let’s enjoy the victory first! The water level is still very low, though, so we need to be careful and save water until the rain fills the tank again. Maybe the weather this weekend will help with that, although it probably won’t be ideal for migration and captures. We can’t have both, birds or water. Av interessante observasjoner kan nevnes: nattravn 2, stålorm 1 Dagens ringmerking: rødstrupe 2, rødstjert 3, møller 3, munk 11, løvsanger 12, gråfluesnapper 3 og grønnfink 2. TOTAL 36.
