Hi,

​We, Meryl Gervot and Rozenn Le Fur (French ringer and assistant), arrived at Store Færder at 5 p.m. together with Hans Erik. We discovered the island and ringing station. What a beautiful place to do some ringing! 
After being introduced to the station, we set up a few nets, though no birds were caught on this first evening.
After a lovely tour of the eastern part of the island, we tasted traditional Norwegian food in the evening: fenalår, torskerogn, Utsirasild, Ridderost, and Bamsemoms. It was a surprising experience — but a pleasant one! The most surprised we enjoyed it was Hans Erik. We are already addicted to Bamsemoms and now know what we want as Chrismas present. 

We’re excited for the weeks ahead. With a bit of luck, we will have both birds and a nice diversity of species.
