Hello everyone,
The French team is back on Store Faerder Island, and we are delighted to be back for three weeks and participating in the banding program. We always received a warm welcome from Hans Erik and Terje, whom we warmly thank. We had good, slightly windy weather, which allowed us to ring nine waxwings out of a group of 36, with a superb sighting of an adult sea eagle passing by the station during our lunch break. Note the great activity at the feeder right now, with blue tits and greenfinches. To round off the day in style, we had the great pleasure of ringing a magnificent passerine bird, the yellow-billed linnet. Tomorrow's goal is to find the gyrfalcon on the island; we'll of course keep you posted. Dagens ringmerking: 3 blåmeis, 1 bergirisk, 10 fuglekonge, 2 gjerdesmett, 14 grønnfink, 1 kjøttmeis, 8 munk, 1 svarttrost, 9 sidensvans og 4 trekryper. Totalt 53 ringmerket. All the best Henry and Seb
