Good morning everyone,
We woke up this morning to a strong, sustained wind that lasted all day, severely limiting our ringing activity. Henry, true to form, took advantage of the situation to do some birdwatching near the house, and he came back with a new species: the woodcock . Meanwhile, three nets, a little more sheltered from the wind, were opened, but without much success; only seven birds were caught.
Finally, we managed to catch a glimpse of a water rail from the house and were able to take a photo of this rather rare species on the island.
We took advantage of the bad weather to clean and tidy the house.
Tomorrow will be a better day.
