There was almost no wind this morning, we didn't notice much bird activity in the bushes and trees when opening the nets. We didn't catch many birds but we got 9 different species (ringed and retrapped included), among which a beautiful male Sivspurv.
We closed the nets at 10:30 to go on a birdwatching boat trip with Halvard. We first went to the lighthouse : we didn't see many birds there but we encountered quite a lot of Teist on the way there. We don't see them much in France so it was a nice occasion for us to get a good look at them. We then docked on an island near Store Færder where we saw a few Sandlo and five Fjellerke among the usual birds there. It was a really nice trip. We opened two of the nets again in the afternoon and the day ended with the catch of a female Bjørkfink. This was my (Violaine) first time ringing this species so it was a good way to end the day. Birds ringed today : Måltrost : 2, Svarttrost : 2, Sivspurv : 1, Brunsisik : 13, Gråsisik : 1, Rodstrupe : 1, Bjørkefink : 1 Retraps : 2
